Lubna Mousa is an Iraqi-Canadian artist currently based in Ottawa. Lubna expresses herself in abstract paintings through mixed media and acrylic on canvas, wood or paper. Throughout her career, Lubna has explored complimentarities and dichotomies in her past and present cultures, sharing with and engaging others in her journeys.
Objective
Lubna’s objective is to make artworks that reflect thoughts and images of everyday life, often by layering different materials and colors. A way of demonstrating the complexity or simplicity of human thinking, emotions and interests.
She credits migrating to Canada for causing a major shift in her practice:
